Lacunae
Aluminum, granite

Lacunae speaks the voids left in our lives and our communities due to tragedies or dislocations, and shows the wall that separates our common humanity as less than solid. Specifically, the sculpture references the tragic loss of life in Sonoma and Napa Counties due to the devastating fires of 2017. From the base upward, the artwork moves from an ordered structure to a more random and effervescent quality in the upper reaches.
