Portal refers to a doorway and to the aortic valve in the heart. In 2008 my father needed to have his valve replaced, but was declined after he suffered a heart attack. The rings are held in place by 12 bolts, the number of my family members, while the valve has three leaflets.The ring is always a symbol of eternity.
