Bronze, charcoal, granite sculpture referencing California fires
"After the Inferno: Magnolia"
Bronze, charcoal, granite
12" x 5 1/2" x 2 1/2"
2015

This artwork refers to the effects of a four-year drought on our environment, specifically the cultivated and inhabited areas, and the resultant catastrophic fires. The relatively durable materials of granite and bronze were chosen to contrast with the ephemeral qualities of charcoal.
