Bronze, charcoal, granite sculpture referencing California fires
After the Inferno: Sequoia II
Bronze, charcoal, granite
10" x 4 1/4" x 2 1/4"

The work can be viewed as advocating a prescriptive use of fire in land management practices; yet, it also refers to the effects of a four-year drought on our environment and the resultant catastrophic fires. The relatively durable materials of granite and bronze were chosen to contrast with the ephemeral qualities of charcoal.
